Yes, it will cost several thousand for the rights (the mobile rights for The X-Factor in europe cost namco around £500,000 as an example - though that is a BIG brand). Though it depends on what you want to do. 1) You can BUY THE RIGHTS which means you get control of the name and characters, and are...

Would I sound excessively sarcastic if I said "Because it's at night time" ? I've never really had a problem with drakan's lighting unless I've got the sun shining on my monitor (which I block out with thick curtains). The part upto the temple (well up until you meet Arokh really) is actually my fav...

I would like to work on a game like Drakan. I don't know if I will ever get the opportunity to actually do it (commercially). I can't say who will make a similar game, there are so many developers and publishers in the world, it could be any of them, but it only takes 1 to make a great game.

There's always the possibility that another publisher will license the Drakan brand from Sony. I have always wanted to work an a Dragon game, and Drakan is the best example of one I can think of. If I ever got the opportunity, I would most likely draw on features from Drakan and push to have them in...

Sorry for the necromancy in reviving the thread, but having just watched Eragon on DVD again, I had a desperate need to see if other people felt this too. I know exactly what you mean, ever since I first saw Eragon, I was thinking how it's so much like Drakan (which as we know is like the best game ...
