When I first heard of it ... I thought to myself, "I'd bet that the Mithril Scimitar is up there..." because it only shows up once in the game and that's late in Stratos... and at 12AP it isn't the first thing you're gonna want to pick up when you get it, so... I was kinda hoping it was up...

Possible spoiler... A few months back I posted a way to force the second to last level in D:TAG right after the first. I recently found the same methodology works for forcing the save to Shiverbane. So... theoretically... you could start the game... do Shadowmire and get Earth Blade and Arokh, warp ...

Perhaps it's supposed to be Navaros, although, I'd imagined that Nav had been... 'expunged' in that last fight. Since no one was revealed in the story to be superior to him, it must've been whatever part of Navaros which wasn't physical, which needed Delon as a host body.

If you haven't saved after the barrels, I could only suggest trying again and again. There's always the overhead chop, or 'skull-splitter'... gee, good luck with that, especially if this is an Archery playthru. Hoarfrost is really great early in the game.
