..also would you like me to post something on the doom3world.org website regarding this project? Perhaps it might spark some interest and help from users already familiar with the doom 3 engine.

Ok Sir Random, well i'll try and contact some of those authors and see if they'd be happy donating a map to this project. It can't hurt, even if you don't end up using them. As for the textures, I created a lot of new textures for my Fortress of Nemrut hd mod. I know they weren't the exact same copi...

I also have limited time at the moment but i'd be happy to try my hand at some map texturing. That's great progress Sir Random. I was wondering if it was possible to use any existing maps from http://www.doom3world.org/index.php. I've downloaded a few from there that would suit severance very well. Obviously you would need permission from the authors but it could definitely speed up the prog...

If the models and anims are successfully ported into doom 3, are we just restricted to those models or can we then with the existing animations use newer models from other games... if the combat system is in python, can we use these tools for...

It looks good but the combat seems disappointing from the the clips of seen. I know they've improved the animations but it still seems a bit clunky to me.

Might wait until someone on here gives it a good review before purchasing..

yeah i have noticed a few weird things in d3d, like some of the snow/wind effects are black instead of white and some of the special attacks don't have the same look to them. i've been using d3d without any crashes on win7...is it just me or does it look a lot better than opengl apart from the menus.
