Hmm, that sounds like a problem with Drakan.exe lacking write privileges for the folder in question.
Have you tried running it as admin, and/or setting PerUserConfigAndSaves=0 in Arokh.ini?

Re: At my wits end
Here's a simple, step by step solution: First you should uninstall Drakan , although in my experience it isn't strictly required; just renaming the folder to something else is sufficient. However, to be safe and to keep it simple, just perform a complete uninstall. Then go to this page, and download...

Re: DgVoodoo, recording, and general quality & performance considerations
Regarding the lens flare effects: I've done some testing; please check my previous post for details. In other news, I have partially solved the issue of audio levels being very weak when recorded through ReLive. :| This is a general problem, not at all specific to OOTF. Not sure if it's caused by my...

Re: Sequence breaks, glitches, secrets, ghosts of content cut, and other observations...
Wow, I'm still not entirely done with Ruined Village yet. I've found a few new glitches, as well as more evidence of cut content; I've updated the OP accordingly. Here's a list of what had been updated, for reference: Arokh's partially-unused "run into wall" animation, Glitches fixed in th...

Re: Widescreen hack and some other fixes aka AiO Patch
The 'sword block flying' glitch is no more! (...) UCyborg, the bane of OOTF speedrunners :D Regarding those pixel updating problem, I think I've seen something like you describe once or twice. Things like that can happen when forcing certain anti-aliasing methods on a game, though i don't think thi...

Re: Questions regarding the OOTF editor
Maybe it only happens when there is no possible landing spot within a particular radius? For example, calling from the middle of a large body of water? I'll try testing that. Yep, some quick testing confirms that this is indeed one of the possible cases. Arokh will still fly over to Rynn's location...

Modified Ruined Village level file, with controllable Arokh
Here's something I concocted purely for the purpose of messing around. What has been changed from the original Ruined Village map: Arokh has been moved to Rynn's starting location and made controllable. Also he now has all the dragon breath weapons - because why not? Removed the original outdoors &q...

Re: Sequence breaks, glitches, secrets, ghosts of content cut, and other observations...
Interesting... Here's a video of the "sword flying glitch" in action, starting at about 0:30; for example, most of Ruined Village gets skipped using it. The effect is similar to, but distinct from, the Tomb Raider "airwalk" glitch (Anniversary/Legend, IIRC?). I have since managed...

Re: Widescreen hack and some other fixes aka AiO Patch
Oh, and there's also one other issue I've been wondering about; maybe you can enlighten me on this: I've recently noticed that both the topmost row, and the leftmost column of pixels on the screen don't appear to be updated properly. I wasn't using dgVoodoo when I noticed that - but then again, only...

Re: DgVoodoo, recording, and general quality & performance considerations
Interesting. Seems as though it warrants further testing on my part. I didn't notice any of those effects in the bonding cutscene when using dgVoodoo, but I was getting a bunch of lag spikes (FPS momentarily dropping to ~25-40) when the lightning effects were visible, and the "lens flare effect...

Re: Widescreen hack and some other fixes aka AiO Patch
Nice, thanks. Wait, 122? What happened to 121, have I missed something? Out of technical curiosity, what was the underlying cause of the cloning bug? I mean, beyond simply being able to place an item where it shouldn't have been possible to? :?: I'll still show this bug off in my LP, though; both be...

Re: Drakan won't start in Fullscreen mode. (Edit: Fixed.)
Even if it works, it probably won't do much. Drakan is CPU bottlenecked. Actually no, it doesn't work. What it does very effectively though, is crash the system - I've since confirmed that these BSOD's were indeed caused by CrossFire being enabled, as per the default settings. Just disable in in th...

Sequence breaks, glitches, secrets, ghosts of content cut, and other observations...
As part of the preparations for my LP, I'm very thoroughly investigating OOTF's levels - including the areas not normally intended to be seen :D Here's a list of my findings, which will be updated concurrently with my progress through the levels . Some of these things are probably already known, but...

DgVoodoo, recording, and general quality & performance considerations
I've been experimenting with recording OOTF gameplay, and here's what I've learned so far. I'm using Radeon ReLive for recording - it's free, and seems to be doing a fairly good job; nVidia users have Shadowplay, which has largely the same functionality. At 1920x1200, 59fps and maximum bitrate, the ...

Re: Drakan won't start in Fullscreen mode. (Edit: Fixed.)
"Wait for vertical refresh" setting is only effective for OpenGL applications, unless AMD changed something. I assume you don't have very recent drivers. No, on Win7 I do have fairly recent drivers; downloaded from the AMD site earlier this year. They aren't very recent on XP though, for ...
