I think Drakan actually works on waveforms level rather than on generic midi; It just sound too good to being only midi files :)

Damn, it's much thorougher nut to crack then I thought before. Setting up wrapper around DX 6.1 to 9.0c is difficult, because the last one does not contain Direct Draw module at all! And the game is using it...

Are you sure Drakan uses internal T&L? Well, that would be very sad info (I am yet to check lighting rendering methods) and indeed would make my task way harder. But AFAIK Direct3D 6.1 Immediate Mode (that one used in Drakan) has hardware support for T&L, hasn't it?

Uhmm... Actually I *am* programmer. With more than 6 years of experience and dozen of known programming languages.

Everything in Drakan: 10th anniversy is done in Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and with some use of old and new versions of DirectX SDK.
