I almost decided to quit playing the game when those two beasts killed me out right everytime, so after the cutscene I ran away back to the gate barely alive , saved, crept back in, hid around the corner and used 2 invisibility potions to sneak attack on each to take them out.

This game is almost too easy when you have the Clone spell, it's almost like having a permanent invisibility potion.

Why didn't they have a hot slot health potion for Arokh in battle while in flight, having to run away (if you survive) to open inventory to replentish health sucked.

Well, it's not a puzzle. 500 tries? The fire is supposed to prevent you from getting that crystal...walking thru? Do you find jumping twice across the smashing blocks in the flame fortress easier?[:0]

Oh, come on now...there is only one ring of fire that you actually have to jump across (side-flip when the flame goes out) you might take a little damage. But the others? There are ways to get the crystals without getting burned![:D][:D][:D]

The first time I went back in the room and used up all my arrows. I didn't know about the quick save then, hee.
Do a quick-save after you get the key and then circle-strafe, hit and retreat, with a long sword, just practice as they're a lot more of these guys to come.

I'm partial to Drakan, but I have BOD, too. I think the graphics in BOD are better, but I'm just the opposite as far as combat control is concerned. Drakan's is better. Also, the load times in BOD are so long and there's no quick save.

There is only one key in the first level, so you do have it. If you're in the tavern basement just bump into the door at the top of the stairs to open it. Good luck!
