I have rebuild Fem1 with adjust shoulders ( not again so well ) and put the shield anchor at the Left hand , I have called Fem1Wiz: Look

Not so easy as it sounds.[8)]

Wizgirl only working as NPC at the mo. I have had to go to lengths to get the left hand sword to function as a working shield and also do damage. The LH weapon is a shield version of the RH. There is also a 'Weapon' version of the RH weapon linked to the left-hand spare anchor (the one the Player uses when drinking potions while in combat). It is in approx the same position as the 'shield', but is invisible. The damage needs to be enabled from an extra animation event during the attacks. I still have to fine tune this part as without the animation files the timing is mostly guesswork. In a Player char you have the added complication of switching weapons and
sheathing, so needs a whole lot of complicated data to handle this.

I did make the Wiz a nice shield that reflects back the damge done to it to the attacker. (Like the vamp shield, but without the life stealing properties). You can use the data on any shield, and is simple to apply. You can have the code if you want it.[;)]

Does anyone know of a (free.[;)]) .mp3 to .wav converter. I have found an excellent source of free sound FX which are very suitable for the Wizard stuff and for BOD in general. But they are all .mp3 which is not a prob if used as music/atmospheres but for locakised sounds they need to be wavs. I have a little trial prog which works OK but only works 5 times.[:(]

If its just straight conversion you're after, I find CDex to be very good. You can set it to convert multiple files in a location and its subdirectories. I'm still using version 1.51.

If you actually want to edit, add effects etc, I'd recommend Audacity.

Both are very good, <u>free</u> utilities.

I would rather use dBpowerAmp for sound conversion. I used cdex for years, but once I found dbpowerAmp, I was hooked. [:D]

It adds a shell extension, or whatever you call it, so that when you right click a sound file or a group of sound files, you have an option to convert it, etc etc. It is also free, and (to my knowledge) it support a lot more formats than cdex. It is very light of use, and more user-friendly I would say. The options (framerate, kb/s, stereo/mono/joint stereo, frequency, volume normalize, destination forder, etc) are easy to change, they appear all together when you ask for a conversion. It also rips cd perfectly. There are a lot of plugins allowing you to convert more and more formats. It is well known and plebiscited among music professionnals. My english is getting very aproximative in this post. [:D]

Wiz Report.

I am still working hard on the Wizard.[:)]

He has a nice range of magic attacks, but any ideas for more would be welcomed.[;)]

I'm working on a range of shields with special properties incuding one
that will protect from fire-breathers. (Standard shields will not detect particle attacks.)

I have made healing potions that allow him to restore wounded Allies.

He can teleport like the Vamp and also turn invisible for short periods. Also he can transform into a Werewolf by eating a special herb. In this state he cannot use weapons or pickup any items or use potions, etc, but he is extra powerful.

If he uses magic too much it depletes his power and makes his wepons less effective, but killing enemies replaces his power. He can also eat various plants/potions to replace his magic.

[:D]TP. Have you found any more good bodies? The Cat and Badger are working well. The cat got to level 5 the other day.[:0]
