Getting BoD to work in Win Xp with Modern Geforce

Post by eden_hawk »

Tital says it all, Getting BoD to work in Win Xp with a modern Geforce like a 7000+
I LOVE this game and have just rebought another copy after losing the first and alas i dont have a old pc with a voodoo or any of the supported cards to run BoD.When i try running it it asks me which graphics settins to use well none of them support a nvidia geforce 7000+ so im stuffed and when the game loads its all pixelated which is to be expected.I am hoping and to some extent praying that someone may no of a patch or a mod or something that will let u use the newer geforce cards on this game in xp.Thanks

Aside from a few specialised cards which were around when the game was released, general rule of thumb is to just use the D3D setting - vanilla Direct X.

There have been known issues with Geforce 5200s but reading around the web, there were lots of things that had issues with them.

The demo for the game required Direct X 7 at the time and that had upgraded to 8 by official release. There is no patch that is going to take advantage of new Direct X features I'm afraid, if that's what you're after.

Better/modern hardware does allow you to ramp up the resolution a lot. I'm running on my laptop's native 1280 x 800 without a problem and I remember Crawdaddy79 posted some ridiculously high quality screenshots at 1920 X 1280 or something similar at one time.

Hope this helps, Gorgon.

1920 x 1440... [:)]

I was thinking about getting a newer nVidia card, but if BoD doesn't run on it then I'll have to shy away from that.

Wow this thread got bumped out of nowhere. [:)]

I'm up to a Radon X1950XTX now (got it in September 2006)... BoD works better than ever.

Unfortunately my awesome CRT bit the bullet so now I'm on a widescreen with maximum 1680 x 1050.
