drown and drown ?

After I got the vampiric sword, I jumped into a rectangular well and got drown a dozen times. Need some help.
BTW, I played this game yrs ago, but still think it is worth playing again.

Can you be a bit more specific? Have you got 'stuck' in the environment as this could be a bug.

It just took too long so the air was gone and she drowned. Probably not a bug since I played several times yrs ago although I don't remember .

I do know what you mean. Clineschmidt's Blade. The underwater tunnels are pretty confusing. I use the central circular place to get air, check my direction on the compass, and take the middle one then the bottom one. one leads to the correct room, one leads to the escape well from the correct room.
The only other tunnel is back to where you began.
YES, it gets confusing. I've played the game more than a hundred times, and I still get lost occasionally in this spot.
(On the plus side, every once in a while, I'd get to see the schools of fish, but they aren't always there.)

I finally got it. First I made a stop at the round well( pond ) then by luck I went up at the
Grulls location. Kill them all with the new sword.
