visionary amethist

could someone please tell me where to find the visionary amethist, and if it's behind the gated tunnel behind the skeleton statue just past the port of ravenshold, how do you get the door open?

Its in the Northern Tundra - there is an entrance to the level its in about halfway through the Tundra if I remember rightly. Its a sub level in which Rynn has to go alone.

go speak to the man in the caves at the northmans camp in the northern tundra he will tell you about the ice caves go through the portal that should appear on your map as "ice caves" after you have spoken with him if you go halfway through them you will find a clearing with two paths leading away from the main path one leads to the exit portal the other leads to some ruins the amethyst is in the ruins walk up to it and press L1 this will give you posession of the amethyst any golem left living in the caves will fall once you have retrieved the amethyst
