help!!!!!

Post by julius »

i am not able to play drakan on my Windows 2K Pro, even with service packs and compatibility update, and the 445 patch
it keeps crashing all the time and locks my computer (reset the only solution)
my computer : AMD 800 3D Now!, 192 Ram, GeForce2 MX/MX 400 32 Ram, soundcard Maxi Sound Muse, motherboard MSI, VIA chipset
i have all the latest official drivers for the soundcard, videocard, VIA drivers, and DirectX 8.1
Is there anything I could do to make it work?
I really love this game, played it once and want to play it again
I'm desperate!!

Try disabling 3D sound in your drakan options. A3D caused my computer to crash when enabled.

Buy a new computer????? Why not get windows 98. I tried XP and I still much prefer 98. It's the best one there is.....

2000 sucks for multiplayer Drakan, I have a dual boot system so I use windows98 for playing games. Win2000 I use for other stuff when I Don't want my PC to crash...

yes, I should do this (install 98)
but I'm just a bit too lazy...
and I don't like having a system on my disk that hungs up even when loading notepad :)
and I'm not sure that it's not a hardware incompatibility problem (AMD+GeForce2 with an older game like drakan)
btw, why isn't there a drakan2 PC version?
rhetorical question, of course
it is however very very disapointing
I hate Sony and PS2
