Because every download link opens up a tab that closes automatically...and nothing is downloading...

Hi, this is because you are using a popup blocker or Google chrome. Right click on the link and select save as... that will allow the download to work. It's a known issue with Wordpress - I've noticed a new version has been released so Ill update the site and check all links work.
