Extracting models, textures & sounds

Hello all,

As part of my (very slow) effort to develop a new Drakan-inspired game in Unity, I was wondering if it's possible to extract models (preferably with all the animations included or at least rigged), textures and sounds from the original game, as it would speed up prototype development rather quickly.

Hello,

I used to do a lot of modding for the Drakan community. There was a way to do so. Perhaps you can reach out to me and I can assist the project. I would love to get involved in a Drakan inspired project.

Here's a few links in the level editing forum that should get you started. I don't know if you can extract characters and animations with the level editor, but you can look thru the modeler info and see if that will help. I read in one of the posts that's it's possible to copy an object with an alpha mask by changing the name of the .bmp file. They're identified by an '_a' attached to the .bmp file. You may corrupt the database so make a backup first.

Check here for a zip file that has a lot of info about using the editor and modeler.

There's some good modelers that show up and maybe one of them can give you a more complete answer.

Good to see you Mage150, (bows and scrapes to level god) but it looks like you need to keep away from electric devices for a spell. :D

Your avatar looks like you put your finger in an wall socket. Maybe it's just a picture of you after the level editor crashed and you lost all your work? :D

I enjoy all your creations and I'm encouraged to see a guru back and willing to help out. You, Zeoc, Steamtek, Assasin, Mick and others have given me many fun hours whacking at things and making monster bits. I appreciate all the work and time all of you put into your levels.
